Party Time!

And now, the partying begins! Tonight, I'm having dinner with a former co-worker, Erika, and Dan, Surena, Sal & his wife in Berkeley! Yay, haven't seen Erika in forever and I know she'll be excited about my news! And then Saturday is clubbing in SF with Jody, her cousin, Di, Dan & Surena. Hurray for parties! :) I think my top choice for my going away party location is Dan & Brandon's pool house. So I'm gonna get them to book it and see if it's available Aug. 14 or Aug. 21. So keep those dates in mind!

Surprising Results

Wow. Ok. I'm a little speechless. I've been granted an LOA. I totally didn't expect that. And I got the end date I requested. But I've also been asked to consider staying until the next milestone (for a max of 6 months) before going on leave. So I'm going to have to think about it this weekend and see if it's even possible.

Oh, the frustration!

Why's is so tough to get a straight answer from the managment?? My mgr said he'd let me know early this week about LOA and all that, but no word yet. Just tell me if I'm going to get LOA or not. And tell me WHEN I can leave. I won't be upset if it's not the best news, I just want ANSWERS. I want to know my end date and book plane tickets already!! And I want set a date for my HUGE going away party! :) And how come they don't bother to reply to emails? I have a f2f with the mgr 2 levels up tomorrow morning and he'd better have some answers to give me! No more stalling tactics like having to "check with HR" or not knowing the "policy". Grrrr! Just give it to me straight.

Alrighty... I've just started this blog in preparation for updating everyone about my life in Taiwan! Right now, all I know is that I'm going to Taipei sometime in August to study Chinese for a year. Everything else is still up in the air (departure date, housing, contact info, etc). So stay tuned for more news...
